Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 4, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how GED Study Test (“we”, “us”, or “the Site”), operating at gedstudytest.com, collects, uses, and shares information when you use our free GED practice tests and study materials. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
Information you provide. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile image from Google in order to create and identify your account. We do not receive or store your Google password. If you contact us by email, we keep the contents of that message.
Purchase information. If you buy the ad-free upgrade, payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. Card numbers and billing details are submitted directly to Stripe and never reach our servers. We store only a record that a purchase was made, the transaction identifier, and the date the upgrade expires.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we and our service providers automatically collect technical data when you visit, including IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, and the dates and times of your visits.
Practice activity. Your answers, scores, and progress on practice tests are stored in your browser. If you are signed in, some progress and entitlement data may be stored in our database so it is available across your devices.
How we use information
- To provide practice tests, score reports, and study content.
- To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
- To process purchases and to recognise whether your ad-free period is active.
- To display advertising and to measure how the Site is used.
- To diagnose technical problems, prevent abuse and fraud, and improve the content and features we offer.
- To comply with legal obligations and to enforce our terms.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use the following categories:
- Strictly necessary. A signed, HTTP-only cookie records that you have purchased the ad-free upgrade, together with a non-sensitive companion cookie that lets the page hide ad placeholders without a server round trip. Firebase sets cookies and local storage entries needed to keep you signed in.
- Analytics. Google Analytics sets cookies that help us understand aggregate traffic patterns, such as which study topics are most visited.
- Advertising. Google and its partners set cookies to serve and measure ads, as described in the next section.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent sign-in or the ad-free upgrade from working correctly.
Advertising
We display advertising through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this Site and other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You may opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices or optout.networkadvertising.org.
- Purchasing the ad-free upgrade removes advertising from the Site for the duration of that upgrade.
Where required, we ask for your consent before setting advertising and analytics cookies, and you can withdraw that consent at any time through your browser settings or by contacting us.
Service providers
We share information with a small number of processors who act on our behalf:
- Google (Firebase, Analytics, AdSense) — authentication, database, traffic measurement, and advertising.
- Stripe — payment processing and fraud prevention.
- Vercel — hosting and content delivery.
- Cloudflare — domain and network services.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising in exchange for money. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights, users, or the security of the Site.
International transfers
The Site is operated from the United States and our providers process data in the United States and other countries. If you access the Site from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
Data retention
Account and purchase records are kept for as long as your account is active and thereafter as needed to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Analytics data is retained according to Google’s standard retention settings. Progress stored in your browser remains until you clear your browser data.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Residents of California may request disclosure of the categories of personal information collected and may opt out of any sale or sharing; we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. Residents of the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom may also lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@gedstudytest.com. We will respond within the period required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Children’s privacy
The Site is intended for people preparing for a high school equivalency examination and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use HTTPS across the Site, signed HTTP-only cookies for entitlement data, and reputable providers for authentication and payment. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site.
